We are now shipping IntelliSuite version 7.3 to our customers. This release includes many new features and refinements. The major changes include:

Expanded piezoelectric capabilities. The use of piezoelectric materials in MEMS has become increasingly common. To address this growing trend, the new PiezoMEMS tools are included free of charge to our existing customers.

Expanded squeeze film modeling. In 2001, we released the first MEMS specific damping analysis tool. This capability has now been expanded to include electrostatic forces. Now users can model the true dynamic behavior of electromechanically actuated devices moving in a fluid environment

Macromodel property extraction. Automatic extraction of 6 DOF properties of a device such as moments of inertia, center of mass, and spring constants.

IntelliMask. The user interface of IntelliMask has been significantly improved based on user feedback. This modification represents a first step in the coming improvements. Users can look forward to many new features as we continue to address the needs of the professional MEMS layout design engineering community.

After a hiatus of almost a year, we've revived IntelliNews with a new look and and a new mission. Our editorial staff's mission is quite simple - to keep you abreast of the latest in the industry. Interviews, research stories and breaking news will all be part of our quarterly rag. Shoot us an e-mail if you like the design or would like to contribute a story.

Earlier last month, we announced a partnership with PhoenixBV, a Dutch company specializing in First time right (FTR) and SPC tools for MEMS. The motivation behind this is quite simple, it is time we had end to end enterprise class systems for MEMS which integrate the process to the design to the package to the final product. This is our first step in providing a living design environment for MEMS development in an enterprise context.

In response to the maturing piezo-based actuation technology, we've released our new PiezoMEMS tools. Whether you are designing piezo-based sensors and transducers, or investigating piezo-acoustic coupling, you will find PiezoMEMS quite invaluable.

Considering piezo actuation for your MEMS device? IntelliSuite can handle your needs such as time varying loading, floating conductors, full thermo-electromechanical modeling and high frequency analysis.

We are working on a completely revamped version of IntelliMask with many advanced features such as VBScript, Perl and Python based scripting, enhanced boolean geometry, and most importantly, a focus on ease of use. If you would like to participate in testing a beta version or have a wish list for the program, please send us an e-mail.
